One of the biggest challenges we face as human beings is not just our problems themselves, but the fear of confronting them. This fear can be deeply rooted in our past experiences, emotions, behaviors, and cultural perspectives. Too often, it holds us back from reaching out for help—whether due to uncertainty, fear of being truly heard, or wondering if anyone genuinely cares.

Creating a supportive environment built on empathy, unconditional positive regard, and acceptance allows clients to feel safe as they work through their challenges. When individuals feel understood and valued, they become more willing to look within, reflect on their struggles, and explore the factors contributing to their difficulties.

Building trust and rapport is essential for helping clients believe in their ability to overcome their fears. As they experience genuine support and acceptance, they gain the confidence to take meaningful steps toward growth. This is where true transformation begins, leading to positive outcomes and lasting change.

I currently work full-time doing assessment and crisis intervention at Tippecanoe County Community Corrections, including experience within the county jail.

I have previously worked in special education at an elementary school and completed internships at Home with Hope and Meridian Health Services.

Outside of sessions, I enjoy spending time with my family and two dogs. I am also a plant enthusiast and an avid reader of fiction.
